ok first grab 7zip from http://www.7zip.org

then you may open the stroke tutorial and the perfection.rar

as for the last that is the source code of a plugin , i believe that you need instead the Windows version

Hi...
Just been reading this with great interest and thought I'd try it. :) Sadly, got problem. Can't seem to get rid of the straight line. When I try to open the :brush editor...the boxes seem to be 'dead' :( They won't respond to 'clicks.'

I've just looked and I don't seem to have a 'Paint along Path' :pap option/icon either. Any ideas please. thanks for all your helpful 'Tuts' BTW....
Thanks
RalphC

It takes me a long time, ( a very long time) from doing a tutorial to doing the tutorial well without having to keep reading it to knowing how to use the effects in the tutorial on my own in other projects.

When you use the crop tool, set it to the size of your original layer which shows at the top of your gimp and in the screenshot below. click crop tool > fixed > size
> 800x600.

Try this,
Edit → Preferences → Folders → Fonts
Add the Folder path.
You may have to restart Gimp.

what i do, is add little descriptions in the layerproperties

Esper, would you explain how you do this. I put what I can in the layer name, but as a practical matter, I have to keep it short. I really wish I could keep notes in Gimp too.

well just put the notes into the layerproperties that would help YOU recreate what you have done on that layer, next time you open your xcf, thats all

so if i made a dropshadow i might note down blur and offset values

Thanks, I think I see now. When you said "layerproperties", my mind was translating that to "layer attributes", but you are using the comment field in "image properties" (alt - Return)... is this correct?

That is a good idea. I knew the image properties existed, but I never gave it much thought. Thanks for a good tip, and please correct me if there is a way to attach comments to individual layers.

I'll add my vote to the last two, in hopes of an Ombre tutorial.
