Sorry, but I'm not very good at putting together tutorials. I do still have the xcf file, if that would help?
A lot of what I do isn't really any one technique, just a lot of trial and error, seeing what work and what doesn't and playing with 'layer-modes' and stuff like that.

I've never upload xcf files here, can this be done?

oh it is
but you have to use the attach file option below (visible in Full Editor Mode) the field where you type, instead of 'Upload File' from the menu above the field

might want to zip the xcf before
