I thought I'd introduce myself with a piece of work I created a few years ago. The leaves were created in Bryce and mirrored in Gimp before being used to create a selection into which I painted. She was originally going to be genderless but looked feminine so I continued along that path.

Almost look like an anthropomorphic landscape render. I like it. Welcome here to GIMPChat Erisian. :)

Thanks both. I find faces a lot easier to paint than anything else as I used to doodle them a lot as a kid. I didn't use any reference for this one as I like to test myself from time to time.

Amazing, the skin looks so transparent and the eyes are outstanding. Welcome to Gimp Chat Erisian and I am looking forward to more of your work.

Thank you. I have another old one that I'd like to share but if I'm not careful, I might end up spamming this forum so I'll leave some time before posting that one. I've started a couple of new works as well so you'll definitely be seeing more from me.

Spam away! And perhaps you can give up some tips and tricks for the effects you come up with.

Cheers 2-ton. I'll try and give some tips along the way but often I find that the effects are happy accidents. There's my tip for the day - work loosely at first so that happy accidents can occur then develop them. Artists in traditional media will tell you that you have to work with the medium, especially with watercolours which give relatively little control to the artist.

Very nice work, Erisian. You were able to create a really good lighting effect with your shading techniques. You come close to getting a photorealistic effect, especially in certain parts of the work.

Please feel free to post any of your work here. We certainly wouldn't consider that spamming.

Magnificent work Erisian. those eyes held me captive for several moments trying to figure out whether it was malevolent or just a very powerful and concentrated challenge. Keep 'em coming! I won't be one to complain.

Thank you. I think she's friendly as long as you don't attack and don't shoot the squirrels!
