Gimp Arrow Brushes

Image

Have arrow brushes at your fingertips when you need one. The zipped folder has three different styles of brushes and each style has 8 different orientations: W, E, S, N, NW, NE, SW, SE. I named the orientations after compass points: West, East, South, North, North-West, North-East, South-West, South-East.

There is a very small, cursor-sized brush and two larger brushes with arrow tips and wing tips in the Arrow Brushes folder in the Zipped file.

The brushes come as regular black brushes or grayscale brushes. They have separate folders in the zip file.

Download the attached zip file.

Question...I was trying out the arrow brushes today, and they are black no matter what my foreground color is. How do I make them another color?

In brush Dynamics, tick the color box in Velocity and the brush will take the fg color.

If you tick the color box in Pressure, the brush will take the bg color.

I thought about making the brushes grayscale so they would automatically take the fg color but thought again that people might not want to add 24 brushes to their folder and they could open a brush from a folder and copy to clipboard and use it as a brush that way. Could make a set of grayscales.

OK, Arrow Brushes.zip has been updated to contain a folder of regular black brushes and a folder of grayscale brushes.

If you want the grayscale brushes you will need to download the zip file again.

It's probably because you have gimp 2.4.

In the brush toolbox there's a Dynamics button with a dropdown list.

I think you have access to something in 2.4 in the toolbox for color, don't you. I vaguely remember clicking something that made the brush use the bg color.

You can re-download the zip file in the first post and put the grayscale brushes in your brushes folder. They will take on the fg color. There's a separate folder in the zip file that is Grayscale Brushes.
