This is a script I have used to Test my Alpha-to-Logo scripts as it produces a fontname, user defined text then a fontmap

; Rel 0.02 - Changed Layout-1 to one posted by Barbie, thank you Barbie, Also added a Pattern background option as suggested by Anmal

; Rel 0.03 - Added a letter spacing adjustment

; Rel 0.04 - Changed the header text to always use the 'Sans' font

; Rel 0.05 - Changed the header text to optionally use the 'Sans' font

see Menu Below

Menu location > right click in the fonts dialogue

I am posting as it may be of use to others and The images below are from the script

A dingbat font. I had to make a new layer to name the font in text. I can see where this will be very handy. Cool script, Graechan!!!

'O' I already new of it's shortcomings with dingbats e.t.c. but it was primarily intended for text fonts.

Works like a charm Graechan. This is what I got with your revision to the scripts. This will come in handy. Three thumbs up. (Pieces of Eight came off dafont.com, as most my fonts do.)

a very useful script, makes really nice font charts.

Image

i chose to run this with a transparent background and added the pattern fill afterwards, but it would speed up my font chart making a lot if there was a pattern fill background option.

barbie: your edit tidied things up so nicely, thank you for sharing! (btw, this was the first time ever that i dared to change a line in a script :))

I don't regard that as a shortcoming. It would be horribly complicated to use another font in the script. I use a lot of dingbats and this is a very quick way to see all the dingbats in a font so I can find what I'm looking for. I know I'll use it a lot in that regard. I love the script. :yes

Thank you Barbie and Anmal, your suggestions and changes are in Rel2, and as for changing my scripts I definitely agree with it as any thing that improves a script is a good idea

'O' Yes it would complicate things (but it's not impossible)

I'll Post Rel2 now
