You have to put the python script in your GIMP Plugins directory AnMal; you also have to have Python installed which I believe in 2.8, they automatically do this for you (but I could be wrong).

yep, it's automatically installed. and i have the file in my gimp plugins folder. it's just one of the many proofs that the universe is conspiring against me, sigh.

AnMal, are you using Windoze or Linux? If you are using Linux, you have to make sure you click allow in permissions. If you are using Windows, they usually come with an .exe along with the .py file

i'm using windows (and i miss the days when i had a computer where i could run both opensuse and windows, that was perfection!) and no exe file along with the py as far as i can see.

sounds to me that it might be compiled for Linux if there is no exe did you look to see if there is one for windows?
