Nice, but the shape-burst fill can lead to funny/surprising results artifacts, depending on the shape/proportions of the shapes being filled.

This was the main reason I wrote my chisel script. Here were some test results:

You should take a look at the way I implemented the chisel effect in my script http://registry.gimp.org/node/24217 and add that as another option!

I had encountered that also. I've never looked into how the shaped gradients were implemented but there can be a definite asymmetry in results which should be symmetrical.

Hum..froma artistic point that asimmetry may be cool , but a added option for a simmetrical result as from RobA procedures would make it perfect

To O , Molly and anyone else with this problem, please enter a pattern between the "" in the logo part of the script e.g.
SF-PATTERN "Pattern" "Pink Marble" Instead of
SF-PATTERN "Pattern" ""
Some absent minded dill forgot to do this um sorry folks, or just re-download as I have now fixed.

Still is LOL :)
Here is how i run it
I create a new doc with a pattern fill - then i create a text layer
Then i run the script and select the layers from the drop downs and select ok and it works.
Maybe because its running in Gimp-2.7.3 it acts differently?
Here is a screenshot ..

and results after

I like your results 'O', I tried to keep it easy to play with different fonts and backgounds.
