I looked in, C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\.gimp-2.6\curves...
There are 31 files in this folder and the all have names. There is nothing there that cosponsors to the hundreds of curves setting that show up in my Gimp curve settings.
They must be somewhere else.

There is no 'curves' folder at this location.

Sorry that is for Gimp-2.8 versions.
Have you checked the Tool Presets folder in the userfolder/gimp-2.version folder?

Will check now...
I found the file in, C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\.gimp-2.6\tool-options... The file is named, 'gimp-curves-tool.settings' and had over 6 MB of data written in it.

The presets are stored as LISP code in a file called ~/.gimp-2.6/tool-options/gimp-curves-tool.settings.
Clear the file and Gimp will erase them all.Or just erase the ones you don't need.

The curves that do not have names (or rather their names are a date/time stamp) appear in the file .gimp-2.8/tool-options/gimp-curves-tool.settings

I removed this file and everything is removed from the list. I need to open the file and look for the ones I gave names to. The preset one are fine though. It's just the ones that I generated that were accumulating.

Yes i believe each time you create a curve in Gimp the settings are auto saved. In that particular file.
Which is kind of nice if you ever wanted to recall a particular curve you liked i guess.

@ Rod,

That is a nice convenience, but over time this stuff can really accumulate. My curves dialog was taking sooo long to open, that I needed to clean it out. I could have done it using the dialog settings manager, but I think my finger would have fallen off before I managed to delete all those accumulated saved curve setting. The file was quite large.
