Well i'll be now I remember just the old reliable senility kicking in,thanks Rod and 'O' now I'll just need to shift the apng file and remove png as in 2-6-11.
I'm just mad I lost a series of images I created with TUX's bubble script and the cage tool.

Thank you all, glad that can help.

apng.zip
i made some fixed, change file extension to apng
now it should work on gimp 2.7

it no need to delete orig file file-png.exe
save file, just type file name with the extension apng

*** 2011/08/26 ***
change load plug-in-file-apng.ui from user-specific GIMP settings plug-ins directory
"settings/plug-ins" on my build or ".gimp-2.7.3/plug-ins" on Partha's build.

James what needed to be changed or fixed with apng as the old one seemed to work ok, and I tried in 2.7.7 and still OK, the console gives a couple of errors though.

If i remember correctly, even in Gimp-2.6.11 you had to delete the old file-png.exe file after installing file-apng.exe
Gimp would then just use the file-apng extension for both animated and non-animated PNG extensions. :)

This is a small tute I made way back when we first starting using Apng. I just changed the name from Max to JamesH.
Hope this helps.

Back to GAP -
I tried running the tutorial for the spinning pole ccbarr posted in Gimp-2.7.3 and couldn't get the apply filter to layers option to work correctly.Still some kind of bug in there i am afraid. :\

So i downloaded and installed GAP for Portable - still didnt work.

So i re-installed Gimp-2.6.11 and the tutorial ran beautifully.
Well i have decided to go ahead and keep Gimp-2.6.11 after all just to use GAP correctly when i need to. :)

I had that same problem Rod. I did that tutorial before when ccbarr first made it and had no probs, using gimp 2.6.11. I tried it again last night usings 2.7 and got as far as step #5 apply filter on layers, came up with an error, then Gimp closed down.
So I re-installed Gimp 2.6.11 on my USB

I can get the source code for GAP.
I wonder if Partha would consider compiling it for Gimp-2.7.3?

GAP portable hasn't been updated other than a source install for 2.6.11.
No windows binary as of yet. :\

Molly i was able to install regular GAP for gimp-2.6 in Gimp-Portable if you install it in the correct directory.Which is
Gimp_Portable\App\gimp folder :)

Works beautiful.

I deleted file-png.exe and moved file-apng.exe with file-apng.ui to 2.7.7 lib/gimp/plug-ins, works fine.

I can get the spinning pole tutorial to work up to the non-interactive call of map layers then it just does nothing "pity really" but I don't think GAP 2-6 is meant for use in gimp2-7.

I'm inclined to agree with you, Graechen. I tried the map object fileter in v2.7 and had the same results as you did.
