I think I will stick with the version I have. Where can I find the windows 64 bit download?

I'm not sure where the Windows builds can be found but there are reports of missing icons and tools in Window's builds of GIMP 2.8.14. Everything seems fine in Linux, as least with my testing so far.

Oh, okay. Well when the windows build gets fixed, then I will download it.

For what it's worth, Fedora's GIMP maintainer was the person who discovered the gimptool versioning problem with 2.8.12 -- so he is obviously aware of the new release (and a pretty smart feller).

Yes. GIMP 2.8.14 has been complied for Fedora. You can see the results here.

It hasn't even propagated over to the testing repos yet, but if one was in a hurry to get it, it could be installed directly from koji. ;)

Yes even G'MIC is missing icons (bottom of the filter selection window). :)
Everything works though. I wonder if its a theme problem?

Is this for Windows?

If you install Active Perl it may just work. :)
I have not tested this theory however. :P

Looks like all Windows' compiles are having this problem. It might be a GTK for Windows issue. Linux is OK.

I think you are right Tux. I tried to install GIMP-2.8.10 over it and when it was restarted it had the wrong version of libgimp. :) Now i am stuck with GIMP-2.8.14 :lol . Unless of course i can figure out where it installed libgimp. GTK perhaps?
Oh and python is also broken in GIMP-2.8.14 in windows.

Still not convinced to install it yet; keeping 2.10. :)

Hopefully, you can find where it installed the new libgimp and roll back to the older version. If you get back to 2.8.10, python might be OK.

I re installed 2.8.14 - uninstalled it from control panel and re installed 2.8.10. All is well now. :)
So if you need to uninstall GIMP-2.8.14 do so from the control panel>un-install programs console. This effectively uninstalls libgimp also.

I haven't been watching this thread but have also discovered 2.8.14 is a mess maybe by 2.8.20 they will get it right,
selections are very dicey especially when called upon by scripts

Indeed. The libgtk-win32-2.0-0.dll is broken.
Maybe the version of gimp-2.8.10 will do.
Overwrite the one in the "gimp 2/bin" directory.

Just checking with all the people complaining about issues here:

Most open-source users are of course already aware of this, but if you are not, please consider: Beyond discussing the issues here and reverting versions, are you making sure this information gets back to the developers? First check so it was not already reported and if not make a proper bug report of what you see and how your setup looks. It's the only way to make sure things get fixed after all. GIMP-development (also the Windows version) is a collaborative development by volunteer programmers, they can't be expected to scour the forums to find what people have trouble with. No one expects you to be writing your own patches but making succinct bug reports explaining what goes wrong as a user is the least you can do to help our lovely devs. :D

How to report GIMP bugs.

My 64 bit version was buggy too Onkel. Is there a "libgtk-win64-2.0.0.dll" also?

I confirm on my win32 OS, i gave a try to 2.8.14 and switched the libgtk-win32-2.0-0.dll with the 2.8.10 version of that file, and no more interface problems.

That said, just tested the default paint brush and it's super slow , it reminds me of an old version that had apparently a bug with an "updated" cairo library ... well back to 2.8.10 in which everything was fast and working correctly.

Has anyone tried Partha's builds to see if these issues exist with his builds?

The paint tools and icons are all working fine in Linux. Perhaps the problem is with how the Windows version is compiled and/or installed.
