Gimp 2.7.4 Update and G'MIC 1.5.0.6

what errors? and are you sure were error not warning ?

till now i can't see errors
or you mean errors from extra plugin and scripts ?

The thing is, I've been able to compile GIMP for windows myself, including apng plugin, and now I'm thinking about fixing some bugs in that plugin. So I'm interested about what kind of different arguments it have, and how exactly it breaks scripts...

it breaks script done for the png plugin ,if used as replacement i believe simply because has a extra argument: save as animation false or true.

I have reinstalled all my deleted fonts.. and it works perfectly. Trying at the moment to find which font reproduces the error but so far unable to identify the culprit. Will report here if I succeed but I hope this information might help someone, sometime.

Thanks Mark. This is the kind of feedback that is very important to me to keep in mind when I release new versions. I imagine it will definitely be useful to the community here as well.

This is going to be a lot to type on this little cell phone.

I was trying out 2.7.4 32 bit portable and it installed fine on my flash drive. The initial execution of gimprun.exe started the app file. After shutting it down an re-launching the app I get this error

E:\GIMP-2.7.4\FINDSTR32.EXE IS NOT A VALID WIN32 APPLICATION.

I click ok the box goes away and nothing happens after that. I did notice that beside the findstr32.exe there was also a ssr.exe that was spawned by the attempted launch of gimprun.exe. Both exe's go away once the error is acknowledged.

App does not launch. This has happened on both my PC at home and work. PC at home core duo with 4gb memory and this rusty tank at work is a P4 with 1gb memory. Both experience the same behavior and I have deleted the app and installed it several times.

any insight would be fantastic!

Currently the portable 32 is not working and I am investigating. As you can see, findstr32 (which is a 32bit application) seems to have an issue. I will update the 32-bit and the 62-bit portable version shortly once my beta-tester gives me the green light. If you are willing to beta-test for me, I would be most very grateful and can send you the beta.

I believe if you are installing over a previous version of Gimp, it will use the font style in the gtkrc-2.0 file.
This file is in the USER folder.The same folder the .gimp-2.6 folder resides in other words.

I have this in mine.

gtk-theme-name = "Aurora Midnight 0.1"
style "user-font"
{
   font_name="comic sans ms 10"
}
widget_class "*" style "user-font"

This HAS to be the system name for the font
Do that and as long as you have comic sans or whatever other font you use, this will never happen again.
Just do not delete the gtkrc-2.0 file, or the font you add to it.

Ah, were did 'File->Create->Logo' go?
Scratch the above; had a plugin that needed a library it choked and must have stopped this part during the launch.

No ignore the warning only errors are relevants

you may get rid of warnings adding the Error Console tabs to the toolbox or to a dock
All errors will be reported there quietly instead then pop out in new windows
