So, like, Hello everybody. :hehe

I'm a 28-year old male specimen from Finland. I like drawing and graphical design, which I currently do as a hobby, hopefully some day as something more.

I've been using GIMP for almost half a year now. Before that I used Paint.NET for a year and a half or so, but it started to get a bit inadequate for my needs, and I got a bit tired of the atmosphere around it - really, if 50% of your user base uses XP, is the logical thing to do really to announce "oh btw guys, the next version only supports Vista or higher"...? But I digress...

GIMP has treated me well, and I love the open-source atmosphere. I also like how you can basically do with a freeware program almost everything that you can with Photoshop, which I won't be able to afford any time in the near future.

I also use a small Wacom Bamboo tablet, which works really well together with GIMP. I've come to like digital drawing so much that my scanner is basically out of business these days... I've also recently started to learn how to write Python plugins on GIMP, and so far Python seems like a really neat language, I love how dynamic and easy to write it is, compared to C and it's relatives...

Also, thanks to Oregonian for making me aware of this forum. It seems like a really neat place so far.

Hi, DD. I think you'll find this to be an exceptional form with nice people.

The plug-ins aren't even my best invention. My best invention is this:

You take an old woolen glove, preferably one without a pair, and cut off the thumb, index and middle fingers. This way when you work on a pen tablet your sweaty hands won't get stuck on the tablet. And it's a lot cheaper than the smudgeguards sold on the wacom site.
