Oh, I am really glad that others would like to ask some of these same things. I do promise that I will try to use 'Search' first though...glad it will help you and 2-ton...I was just kidding about it being 'just for me'.
Thanks for looking.

I got mathmap and step7's spin illusion installed...now what do I do to make it spin?...I don't understand what to do next. Well, I am quite exhausted...this has taken me some time to get it installed...I have to access from the mathmap, mathmap, filters, and render...but now I just don't know how to work it. If anyone has time again, I would appreciate it.

I got this far with mathmap and step7's spin illusion...just not sure what to do now? If anyone could tell me how to make the illusion look like it is moving...I would be happy to hear from you.

I can see yours...the other's posted move...and mine does not move. I don't have it set up right, somehow.

Hy Gramg i see you already find some of that 4 extra scripts for MM , Yes the last 4 added script were from Step7 one was illusion

Now your last question puzzle me

That are as Zip files you may open as zip with , as example 7zip but tar.GZ format is mostly used in Linux , well nobody prevent to use it to pack things, to compress archives usable also in Windows but happen seldom

Of what tar.GZ files are you talking (the link) ?

As for RAR are exactly as zip just less used again 7zip may open them

But again of which files are we talking about here ?

I only installed the spin illusion, because I do not know what the other 3 are...they were mixed in with all the filters already in my gimp for mathmap...did not want to install them all twice.
Do I need the other 3 to get the spin illusion to work better for me?

Thanks for the reply, but I don't understand completely, so may just have to skip them.
I will have to figure out the other than normal type of .zip you mention.
I only have the win7 extract.

ok first grab 7zip from http://www.7zip.org

then you may open the stroke tutorial and the perfection.rar

as for the last that is the source code of a plugin , i believe that you need instead the Windows version

Hi...
Just been reading this with great interest and thought I'd try it. :) Sadly, got problem. Can't seem to get rid of the straight line. When I try to open the :brush editor...the boxes seem to be 'dead' :( They won't respond to 'clicks.'

I've just looked and I don't seem to have a 'Paint along Path' :pap option/icon either. Any ideas please. thanks for all your helpful 'Tuts' BTW....
Thanks
RalphC

Ralph...sorry I am late to respond to you. I am new to all of this myself and so I can not easily answer your questions and not sure which tute you are referencing...I have not made any tutorials for gimp...I believe you need to ask your question

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6558
for the text tutorial

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4613
spin illusion

I am not experienced enough and get confused easily, so don't want to give misinformation.
You would need to see if you need some of the extras added to your gimp to complete the processes and find the tools that you need. Good luck

Hi gramg..
Thanks for replying and no worries re: the "late response" I only posted it a couple of hours ago :)

I'll look into it a bit further. It could be to do with the configuration of my 'tool box' TBH, I only noticed it when I went to add a 'Smiley' ;) With regard to the :path tool and 'rivets,' I'll try some 'trial & error'

I know what you mean with the 'confused' bit...I'm in a permanent state of confusion with GIMP..but I enjoy it...great programme :)
Thanks for your time
Ralphc
