Still cool stuff. Was thinking of finding a way to create paper sculptures though (got emailed a few embedded pictures and my jaw dropped). Below is a yahoo search and I bet your jaws will drop too. :)

International GIMP Day is now noted on my calendar. I'll buy a bottle of champagne and celebrate. I'd do party hats and party favors, too, but there will only be one person here celebrating. Not sure I want to be seen throwing a party of one, haha!

I'd toss the tag into Twitter. Resistance is futile, they "WILL" be assimilated.

Ok! It's official! this is happening. schedule it! We'll bring it up again on Nov 21'st, and shall tweet the #gimpday hashtag! Is anyone else a member of any other gimp forums? The more that know, the better.

I'm excited. Those of you who have Firefox can get the Reminder Fox add-on to remind you of that date. It's also a nice application on its own for reminding you of important dates.

Good tip, O!!

Yes, it's a good idea to get other gimp related sites involved, if they are interested (and not down :lol ). To trend, it's not only the number of tweets with the tag, it's the number of different tweeters using the tag.

I like #gimpday as the tag, although just plain #gimp might have a better chance of trending?

I think having a bit of mystery to it would cause people to tweet the hashtag just to ask what it is. That would inadvertantly help our cause, hence the #happybirthdaywilber mention

Here's an idea.

Why don't we host some sort of #gimpday contest, share it on here, and then post our contest entry on twitter with the #gimpday hashtag? That will spread word about gimp, show people that gimp can do some great things, and we can have fun doing it!

I started sharing this idea with the flickr groups I'm involved in.

I think that's a really great idea. Perhaps start a new thread for it in Gimp Art. It can be stickied so it's easy to find in the Gimp Art forum. :gimp

I know I promised a paper sculpture the last time I posted, but how about a granite instead. :)
