Has anyone other than me experiencing problems with a few of the dialogs?
My problem -
Images of , layers, gradients, brushes, and patterns seem to be not there unless you mouse over them.
I found that if you place them as "View as list" they work better but still fade out unless you mouse over them.
It seems without placing most dialogs as "View as list" they will not even show. They will work but they are invisible.
That is only if you use the dialog option "View as Grid" though.
If you try and scroll - they vanish also.

Example Image-

Does anyone remember the bug from 2.6.11 when the dialogs would vanish when using the scroll bar?
This seems to be the same bug.

Also i have a error in the command window when Gimp-2.7.2 launches that says it can not recognize a certain format for a pattern (which is an Adobes PAT file).
But the pattern works fine in Gimp-2.7.2 and shows in the view dialog for patterns.(when i mouse over it)
Could this possibly be the "load ps pat" plug-in not being a compatible plug-in for 2.7.2?
And why does it still work even though it throws the error?

Example Image-

Most of third party plugin will not work, because not yet adapted to the changes

Your is a more lucky case even if is reported as critical error here the error is not too critical and the plugin still work.

P.S remember that you could minimize the black console Windows but NOT close it or you will kill gimp
(and loose the work in progress)

That's the thing though i have other Photo Shop patterns in the Gimp-2.7.2/Patterns folder other than just this one. Those do not throw an error just this particular one.
Funny i can not open this PAT in XnView, or any other image viewer either.

Weird - i deleted it from the patterns folder.

Rod,
I would guess that if Gimp and the other viewers are having a problem with that pattern - particularly if it is just one pattern - then the file may be corrupt.

Alternatively it may have been made using an obsolete format.

Please if you use the 32 bit version of 2.7 could you check also this plugins ?

Gimpressionist
Map to Object
Lighting Effect
Fratcal Trace
Depth Map
Small Tiles
Fractal Explorer

I would like to know of any problem regarding the preview
If you stumble in something strange could you please take a good screenshoot of ALL the plugin so i may also see the setting used, and add any detail that could be relevant (i.e problems with very little images, or using a netbook....

thank

So this is hopefully the right place to report bugs from the one compiled by Partha...
Anyway, just found out that G'MIC will not update automaticly it.
Filters update from Internet failed !

Please check your Internet connection. You can
manually update your filters by downloading :

http://gmic.sourceforge.net/gmic_def.1483

and copy it as the file .gmic_def.1483
in your Home or Application Data folder.

and well... I am here, so internet works

Okay PM followed your link and posted it here now :D

If you use Windows -
Just download Gimp Themes 1.0 and install it.
Open the shortcut it creates on your desktop and choose your theme.
You can either choose to change the theme for just you or if you are in
admin mode you can change it globally.

Download the package here
http://gimp-tutorials.net/downloads/gim ... s-v1-0.zip

Alternatively you can use another theme package called GTK Themes (which is what i use now).
It is however a wee bit harder to setup.

Rod could you just post how in the heck you got your GIMP to look like that?
You download the Runtime and theme package right?
Downloaded that installed it, and am now firing up GIMP, checked 2.6 and saw nothing different. But when I opened 2.7 at the bottom in the Windows Bar thingy, it quick flashed up GTK. Now how would I change the theme

The simplest way is to just download Themes Version -1.0 and install it.Open the themes program pick your theme and click ok.The theme program writes everything to the correct GTKRC file for you.Restart Gimp and you are all set. :)

Ahh okay so you only downloaded gimp themes then correct?
you DIDNT install the run times that come with it?
That means there could be a conflict with GTK.
Try downloading and installing the correct runtimes that are there with the themes package.

I got the Runtimes too... and I still get that, and that only happens when I use the arrow keys to change which theme I am looking at. But also, I changed to one I like, and nothing happened in either GIMP.
