I went and grabbed these myself. I already love Bryce 7.0, I can see using this to build my own backdrops for virtual photography, just to begin with. So these should be very fun to play with!

Hexagon is what i really wanted.A very easy to use 3-D program similar to Blender but way easier to understand.
CGDreams has some real nice beginner tutorials here.

so, do I need to download all of the bits and pieces for each program? And once they are downloaded, are they self installing?

You do not have to download the addons. Just download the programs and they all still work.
They are self installing for Windows, i am not sure about Mac.
You can download the extras if you want them.Bryce content is a 650mb file with nothing but textures and files like that.Plus some tutorials. The rest of the content files are pretty small and a few are just demo plugins that you will have to pay for if you want them available.
There is one for ZBrush program (GoZ), which is a pay plugin.

Except for the PDF files, everything installed for me. I installed the 650mb file in my F drive as i have more room there.DaZ I believe Bryce can find these files wherever they are on your machine.If not then a simple file open works.

Hmmmm, my account there says I never downloaded Hexagon, but I did and it's in my downloads files???

Finally getting around to downloading...I'm not home until thursday so I am borrowing a wifi signal from my aunt's neighbor's house, lol. I wanted to grab these before the offer is gone. I'll try to figure out what to do with them one of these days. They are just too good of an offer to not grab them!

*ok, has anyone a clue where to put all the zip files and files that have little box icons? I don't see anything in my applications for the programs so am wondering if I need to pull them out of my downloads and put them on my desktop and then do something with them. Hah, can you tell I am so out of my element even though I have had a mac for a year!!!!

Both these are free & old-ish for Windows but do run in Linux/WINE. Some years ago Bryce5 was free. Just about runs in Linux/Wine but very-very flakey. Alas later versions AFAIK no good with wine.

I am having a blast with Hexagon.

Looks to me like sombody is a "Trekkie". Looks great Rod. I haven't had a chance to play with these yet but I downloaded the texture library for DAZ and my guess that's where you are headed next to put the hull plating on your ship. I can't wait to see your finished product.
