Good pic for a phone camera, but a compact camera can do a lot better. Looks like you took the picture from far away and cropped it a lot afterwards. You can get close to dragonflies if you progress slowly. They may fly away but if you stay put and wait a bit they will come back at the exact same spot (they have their habits...).

Now this is what I get when I crop my dragonfly pictures:

(of course I have a better camera and a vastly better lens on it :) )

he/she sure is hairy.
The wings look like you could partition them off and make stained glass out of them.

Cool images!

Your macro shot is excellent, ofnuts. Details are bright and clear.

This is dragon fly taken by ofnuts. I just couldn't resist making the wing look like stained glass.

Nice Molly! :)
A dragonfly never looked so beautiful.

I took some pictures of a katydid hatching out of its shell when we were camping. We were out investigating our site one day when we noticed many, many katydid shells hanging on the tree trunks.I couldn't believe how many there were.It was fantastic.Still have to load them on the laptop to a flash drive though. When i do i will share them with you guys. :)

Wow ofnuts beat me there :)

And yes mine was taken from far away he was in the middle of the garden and everything grows together there and moving through moves a lot of things and it took me like 20 minutes to get that close, and then he left :(
