Thanks Tux. ;)
Your text looks really good. :bigthup
I ran the script from Filters>Map, with default settings.

I see. You ran the plug-in directly. I ran BRL from the Alpha to Logo menu: Flat Bevel with smoothing of 9 & depth of 8.2

When running from the alpha menu, I can just use standard text/image on a transparent BG, whereas when running the plug-in directly, I have to massage the image beforehand. I figure I'll just let the script do that for me. :hehe

Yeah, I get it.
I found that I get much different results when running it direct.
I also find it hard to gauge the text size and all the spacing and find it necessary to do all this beforehand. Otherwise it seems like a guessing game, figuring out all the spacing. I guess if I ran it interactively I could see what the spacing looks like.

Well, if you're guessing on text size & spacing, then it sounds like you're running BRL from the File/Create menu, rather than from the Filters/Alpha to Logo menu. From the A2L menu, you would need to have your text/image already created.

When you are using your own map, there is really no difference between running direct and using BRL. This a test on the same text using round2 bevel (depth=20) with edge smoothing=0 (off) in BRL, which is the same as the default settings when running direct.

Image

In an apples to apples comparison on the same text/image, the only difference is that you have to perform the extra steps of getting your text/image white with a black background when running direct.

Now, if you choose not to make your text/image white and/or your background black when running direct, then you will get some interesting results. :hehe

Yes that is what I'm saying.
When using BRL from the File>Create menu, I have to first create my text. Then transfer the text dimensions to the scripts dialog, in order to have the text fit in a specific way. (SEE IMAGE BELOW)
Image

If I've already created the text I need, with the correct dimensions for my image. My thinking is that I may as well use it and run BRL from the Filter>Map menu.

I must be running different setting to get different results from what's basically the same plugin.

Yes. I believe this is where we are not on the same page. In addition to File/Create, BRL can also be ran from Filters/Alpha to Logo/Bevel Reflect Logo (not from Filters/Map).

Image

I doesn't contain any text entry fields and is designed to work on a selection (or Alpha to Selection if no selection is present).

Image

I guess you are running the raw "ML Bevel Reflect" Plug-in from Filters/Map. What I'm saying is that running BRL from the A2L menu (with "Run interactive" in the dropdown) is the same as running the ML Bevel Reflect plug-in directly, with the additional benefit of getting all the features provided by the script. :cool

Looks really good Molly, It came out great.
I actually made the emap for a Photoshop text style image that I found on DA, that included these images below in it's preview image. I'm always on the lookout for stuff to make emaps out of. ;)

It's always a surprise when making these emaps; I never know what to expect.

Wow, there is so many maps in this thread now, I might have to start from post one and go through downloading again as I can't remember which one I have downloaded already, unless someone has a complete folders worth they are able to share.
