Near instant anyway thanks to G'MIC. May or may not divulge the process but I will say it's a blend of Stained glass and Stencil with added textures (used an enlarged version of this texture blended in to fill the dark voids).

lol; the hints should be enough for someone like samj or Graechen to create a script should they choose to take the challenge. I may indeed create a tutorial (use a smaller target) later (or shortly; depending on my mood; lol).

Don't mind one bit David; I bet, with the addition of a few control sliders, it can be automated as well. Using the stained glass preset can make for some cool inner patterns too and I should have added those steps, but was lazy as many here can already attest (I like to do, no show. lol).
