I had fun to create this cute monsters with my fur brush and some stolen eyes from photos...

This is awesome! Very cute monsters, this actually makes me think of sesame street haha..
But really great work, also really inspiring! I also like how the eyes aren't the same size

Very nice. Love the ground and shadows, make the whole thing quite realistic(*)

(*) except the rightmost "T" of "TEXT" which seems to float a bit (possibly not enough shadow)

Hi Chris...where did you get the fur brush. I tried to do that with your brushes you posted for that tutorial a while back, but they don't make fur.

The shadows was hand painted with a smooth ellipse brush. Not perfect.

@Chris...I downloaded your fur brush and I can't get those darn dynamics figured out. I made text and selected it but I get get my fur to look like yours, the fur stays inside the selected...I can't get it colored. You you give a few hints as how to make it look like yours? PLEEEZE!

Here is a short video how i did it:
I use the text only as template and paint over it with the fur brush.
Than the eyes and some hairs over it. Color the fur layers.
I did not show the bumpmapping: new layer from visible and add
gaussian blur 100. Use the blur as bumpmap for the fur layer.

Thanks a lot Chris, now I just hope to get it written down in slow motion. That is so cool. (I hate those dynamics)

Since I don't have a very steady hand with a paintbrush, I used paths and stroked them.

Like the addition of the ears O. lol

Yeah; I used the machine font that was posted a while back and unclosed the paths before stroking.
