When I was creating my felt texture for my juggling hat, reminded me of my childhood and playing with the fuzzy felt pictures, I can vaguely remember having hours of fun creating pictures with them.
For a while now I've been meaning to have a go at creating a digital version, just took a while to decide on the direction of the image, then this morning it all fell into place.
I tried to keep as realistic as I could and only used basic shapes, I think the hardest part was trying to recreate something I would have done as a child not how I would do it now.

That is an awesome and immediate visual hit. I and my son were so convinced of this image made of felt paper, we even (independently) touched the screen trying to 'feel" it, lol.

Nice work, he4rty!

Yeah, the felt looks very realistic. Everything seems very 3D as well, good job!

Thank you all for the encouraging comments, as to the 3d, the effect was created just by giving each felt layer a subtle drop shadow of 2*2px.

You did a really good job on the felt picture. I think drop shadows are underrated. You just showed how to use them properly.

i couldnt comment on this picture for some time and didnt know why
it looks very good and as everybody said, the felt looks very realistic

but something irritated me...i cant remember ever drawing something in my life like that
but i guess thats a different cultural background

and now i know what it is thats been bugging me:

it looks a lot like South Park !

he4rty: :jumpclap :clap :paint great job! so realistic it took me straight back to sunday school and glue stains on my fingers :). i love digital translations of things you do as a kid, that's why i'm such a fan of rod's crayon text filter. will you make us a felt tutorial if we ask you nicely?
