Cool, i was thinking American Flag when you said FREE! =)
it does sorta look like an beat up old USA flag doesn't it?
with maybe some war wear and tear on it?

its a texture image i just did the paint job...lol
i am going to try and do the cracks later though, probably in GIMP, and Inkscape using paths and gradients.
